What do you enjoy most about working in WordPress?

The community, without a doubt. When I moved to Spain, to a completely new city where I didn’t know anyone, the first thing I did was join the local WP meet-up (ehm no I lie. That was after joining a skating group – but it was right after). Being part of the global WP community is like having a key to every new city you go to: there’s bound to be somebody there who will have a coffee with you (inline skating is the same). Seven years on, I have forged solid friendships all over Spain – and the world. It’s addictive, but in a good way – and I have no intention of stopping.

What do you love most about your Post Status membership?

The easy access to the best people in our microcosm. The way everybody jumps in to help, whenever you have a question, of any kind. I recently had a copyright issue that was vexing me and I was overwhelmed, in the best possible way, by all the support I received – including offers for a company lawyer should I need one. Post Status is THE place to be. Thank you Post Status.

What business/web/WordPress advice do you have for others in our industry?

I’m on a mission to see everyone adopt accessibility as the stepping stone on which to build everything else. I’m currently focussing on busting one main myth: I promise you that “accessible” can also mean creative, as well as beautiful. Stop thinking of accessibility as a burden, and start embracing it as the best way to automatically increase your audience by at least 25%.
