Community Roundup Week Ending March 29

WordCamp Canada

Starting a new WordCamp takes a Herculean effort. And starting a WordCamp for an entire country (second largest by area in the world) is a huge undertaking, for sure.

It’s especially difficult post-pandemic, when companies have had layoffs, people are a little burned out, and sponsors aren’t…well…sponsoring as much as they used to.

I’ve been watching the WordPress Canada Slack. Their WordCamp started with a small group of organizers, but over the last week it looks as if more have joined the numbers.

Nathan Wrigley talked with Shawn Hooper about it over on the Taverm Jukebox. Give it a listen.

And learn more about sponsoring and attending on the WordCamp Canada website. (Speaker announcements are coming soon!)
